Things are moving right along with our garage and addition to the house! Yeah, yeah, it's taken 7 years to get to this point from the initial musings, but heck, Rome wasn't built in a day. :o) We've got compacted soil and a garage pad, woohoo, and today the concrete forms are to begin... only a week and a half off schedule. Not too bad really. We lost power to half the house on Friday and spent the weekend trying to fix it. Ah, the joy of old houses and busting into the sacred circuitry that the builders put in place back in 1931. What's the moral to the story? Don't mess with a good thing I guess. Time to call the electrician.
Another joyful experience this weekend was the 60 mph gust of wind mixed in with the 50mph winds that cracked the back screen door in half and put a hole in the window. Gee, I love the great outdoorsy feeling in my bedroom now that the back wall is visqueen held loosely in place with redwood slats from the fence. I get to listen to plastic flapping against the walls all night, and experience the joy of a crisp cold wind flow over my face, just like camping. I'm so happy about that. >:oO
